Corporate Social Responsibility at Allies Computing
Caring about our local and global environment is core to our business culture and ethics. CSR is not a new thing for Allies Computing:
our family based values have helped shape us over the last 20 years. Here are just a few of the great things we are currently doing:
- Membership of the government's Cycle Scheme allows us to offer cycles to staff at reduced rates. Currently 30% of our employees regularly cycle to work.
- Buying reflective cycle bibs for staff.
- Recycling bins are in all of our offices, staff rooms and kitchens.
- Power is sourced from a sustainable electricity provider.
- All paper product purchasing decisions (including marketing brochures, business cards, letterheads etc.) are based on the supplier providing goods that contain the highest percentage of recycled material and using non chemical-based dyes for any printing.
- Staff policies reflect our values, for example, using public transport instead of driving and using video conferencing software instead of face to face meetings where possible.
- Supporting EACH, a local charity, by completing various events such as a sponsored bike ride.
- Measuring our carbon footprint and offsetting it monthly, as well as setting targets to reduce consumption.
- Working towards becoming a paperless organisation.
- Donating annually to charities chosen by staff members.
- Giving charities 5% discount on our products.
Our business purpose:
- Encouraging businesses to use up to date and accurate address databases to send out their mailers thereby reducing returned mail making direct marketing campaigns as efficient as possible
