PostCoder Web Nearest Offer a 'find my nearest' search on your website
What is it?
This service specifically provides a 'find my nearest' store/supplier search for your website. PostCoder Web Nearest comes with the code you need to integrate it into your website. Additionally you provide the service with a list of points to search against (e.g. stores, suppliers etc). You could display the X nearest results, or all results in nearest order, display the distances in miles or kilometres or display sponsored links first- whatever you choose! Visitors to your website enter a Postcode or town name and your website will inform them of the nearest outlets within the specified distance.

Who uses it?
Retailers with multiple outlets and service providers with multiple branches. For example franchises such as Pizza delivery companies or Flower shops, care homes or estate agents. It's also used for local web Business Directories.
Why should I use it?
If you have more than 1 store, it will make it easier for your customers to find the nearest one to them which will hopefully increase your sales as a result. You can also include a bespoke sales message or promotion offer to increase targeting and sales. You don't have to manage the Grid Reference data or calculations yourself - we will do this for you and return results across the Internet.
What data is used?
- Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF®) - 1.7 million Postcodes and 100m grid references
- Monthly data updates
- Grid References for The Channel Isles and Isle of Man are not included in Postzon normally but Allies® has calculated them for this service at Locality level.
The Grid Reference system for Northern Ireland works differently to that of Great Britain, so we've done the hard work for you and converted these to return the correct results within our service.

With every account you get access to your own secure online management area on our website. When you are logged in you get access to:

How do I pay for it?
Set up is from as little as £15 + VAT and then you pay per nearest search, starting from around 1p per credit. The set up charge will normally cover you for uploading your nearest outlets initially. Various flexible pricing options are available. If your staff are using it, annual per-user licences can be purchased. We only charge you once for each search regardless of how many outlets are returned and there is no charge when a user enters an invalid Postcode.

What data does it use to return the nearest branch?
After you have input your list of branches or a reference file that links to your list, the service will allocate Grid References from Postzon to each Postcode. Then when a user types their Postcode or town into your website, PostCoder Web Nearest looks up their Grid Reference, calculates their distance from the points in your file and finally returns the results to the online user.
How many branch addresses can I add to my list?

Can I add other data to be returned to the customer with the nearest branches?
Yes. There are several custom fields that you can use to provide additional information. For example you could show local promotional offers or specific supplier information for each branch.
Can I develop a nearest lookup for mobile phones?
Yes. This works in much the same way but rather than the user performing the lookup from a PC terminal and passing the information to our service via your web server, the user accesses your service via the internet from a mobile phone.
