What is it?

This is a desktop product which allows data professionals to manipulate and analyse address data to meet specific needs. It allows you to pick and choose the data you need and export it into the best format for your needs: ideal if you want to analyse datasets, do a mail merge, produce mailing lists or conduct research.

It allows you to search, view, sort, export and print specific results quickly to get the results you require, with Context Help included just in case.

Who uses it?

This software is most commonly used by data analysts and database managers to allow them to select the exact area of data they need and tailor it to their exact requirements.

Why should I use it?

If you’re looking to get to grips with the data you’re using and pick out specific information, this is the tool for you. You can search on any address elements (such as post town) and return all of the relevant data, as well as being able to customise field names, edit the format and export the data elsewhere to use.

What data is used?

Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF®) - 1.7 million Postcodes and 28 million Delivery Points including UDPRN
Postzon - 100m Grid References, NHS Health Authority codes and names, Local Authority information
Optional National Statistics Postcode Directory from ONS - Primary Care Trust codes and names
Quarterly updates

How do I pay for it?

Purchase an annual licence for unlimited use per PC & User licences for exported data.

Alternative options

PostCoder Finder does most of the things PostCoder Manager does but with less data, making it the more economical option. Without Postzon and UDPRN included, PostCoder Finder is a quicker way to analyse your address data. Unlike PostCoder Manager, there’s no option to export and print addresses, but it still gives you a great analysis and research tool. What address elements can I display/export?

You can configure PostCoder Manager to include any address fields you require: If it’s in PAF® or Postzon you can export it. The address selection and display can be configured to include any and all available address and Postzon elements.

What formats can I export the data in?

You can choose to export the PAF® data in one of the following formats:

Delimited - e.g. Comma Separated Value (CSV)
dBase
Fixed

Can I customise field names?

Yes: you can label the data fields to whatever you require them to be, and also specify field lengths.

What areas of the UK are covered in PostCoder Manager?

This software includes data for the whole of the UK including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Notes:

Premise level will return a street address but also display a list of valid property numbers to select from.
Additional update Packs can be purchased once per licence type and don’t need to be bought per user. Ad-hoc PAF® updates can be supplied at £75 +VAT if required.
Per user charges are payable per PC/workstation/terminal up to 26 users after which a System charge applies and usage is unlimited around a single set of data for one application within one organisation.
Multi-System Licences are priced at three times the System charge and allow unlimited usage at multiple sites for the same application within a single organisation. Please call to discuss.
